WIRC Announces Start of Energy Assistance Program
Having power to heat homes during the colder months can mean life or death for many Illinois families, especially the most vulnerable. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) assists income-eligible households for that purpose. Program That Helps To Pay Home Heating Bills Resumes October 1, 2024
WIRC-Community Action Agency will resume offering the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (also known as LIHEAP) starting October 1. The program helps income-eligible households with paying their winter home heating bills, and it is open to renters and homeowners.

WIRC Awards Six College Scholarships
Six western Illinois college students were recently awarded scholarships by WIRC-Community Action Agency (WIRC) through the Community Services program. Brandy Bias, Carmyn Huston, Jerick LeMaire, Joy Hadley, Kara West, and Selina Mannion were each awarded $1,000 to be used for tuition, books, and/or fees.
